In Epson 4010 vs 5050, both offer the same resolution, i.e.,1920 x 1080. They even use pixel shifting for delivering two sets of pixels for a single frame. The picture clarity and sharpness provided by these two projectors are almost identical which makes them very hard to differentiate from a 4K resolution.

- Brightness- In Epson 4010 vs 5050, the brightness of the latter one is more than that of the former one. While the former offers a brightness of 2400 lumens, Epson 5050 provides a brightness of 2600 lumens.
- Colour Depth- 12-bit colour depth is allowed by the higher bandwidth of Epson 5050 for both HDR and SDR contents. However, on the other hand, the 12-bit colour depth is also supported by the Epson 4010 in SDR content, but only 10-bit colour depth is provided when it comes to HDR content.
- The HDMI Bandwidth- The Epson 5050 is also a clear winner in this category. This projector lens is more suitable for displaying 4K content. It comes with two 18Gbps, 2.0b ports that come with the support for HDCP 2.2 copyright management which is very necessary for the display of most 4K contents.
- LAN Control- Both Control4 and AMX are supported by these projector lenses.
- SDR Viewing- In the case of 1080p SDR contents, almost the same picture quality is provided by both the projector lenses excluding low light and dark scenes. The Epson 5050 gets an advantage in this case. Although the difference is not that significant, the Epson 5050 manages to make a dark scene even darker. It creates a visual impact and gives a more three-dimensional look.
- Input Lag- The input lag for both the projectors is almost the same. While playing a video at a resolution of 1080p, the input lag was measured between 28 to 29ms. But when the video was played at a resolution of 4k, the input lag of Epson 5050 dropped slightly which ranged between 22-23ms. The input lag of Epson 4010, however, could not be measured when a video was played at 4k resolution.
- Weight- The Epson 4010 and Epson 5050 weigh the same. Both these projectors have an approximate weight of 25 pounds or 11 kg.
- Wi-Fi support- The Epson 5050 does not come with wireless or Wi-Fi support. The Epson 4010, on the contrary, is provided with one that includes an adapter.
- Lamp Life- In Epson 4010 vs 5050, both the projectors have the same lamp life expectancy.
